The training aimed to equip participants with the necessary knowledge and skills to foster inclusive sports activities for students with intellectual disabilities.
The sessions covered various aspects of Unified Sports, which integrates students with and without intellectual disabilities in team sports, promoting teamwork, inclusion, and respect. Coaches and teachers were introduced to strategies for adapting sports programs, ensuring they are accessible and engaging for all participants.
This training is a step forward in creating a more inclusive school environment where every student, regardless of their abilities, can participate and thrive. Unified Sports not only provides opportunities for physical activity but also promotes social inclusion, teamwork, and respect among students.
The initiative is part of SDO Pasay’s ongoing efforts to support Special Olympics programs, which empower individuals with intellectual disabilities to lead healthier, more active lives. The training will enable teachers and coaches to implement these programs effectively across schools, promoting a culture of inclusivity and collaboratio
