Marcela Marcelo Elementary School, then an annex of Timoteo Paez Elementary School composed mostly of the primary grades, were housed in rented buildings. The Officer-in-Charge then was Mrs. Herminia S. Valdez. In 1972, a complete elementary school was established when enrolment increased and primary pupils were promoted to higher grade level. It became an independent school. The new principal was assigned in the person of Mrs. Priscilla C. Linao, an energetic and dedicated manager of the school.
Mayor Pablo Cuneta donated his own lot situated at Apelo Cruz Extension, Malibay, Pasay City, for the purpose of housing all the grades in one area. The donation was made possible through the able initiative of the principal and support of then Superintendent Dr. Jose Saddul. The whole area was covered with tall cogon, grasses and weeds, tall coconut trees and other fruit bearing trees. Pupils in the intermediate grades took turns in cleaning the surroundings with the supervision of the Agriculture and industrial arts teachers Mr. Arnulfo Acosta, Mr. Cris Gallardo and Mr. Ernesto Florencio. The school has a total area of 4,180 sq. m.
Soon a four classroom Pre-fab building was constructed to house the primary grades, while the intermediate grades occupied the two-storey building which was formerly the residence of the lot caretaker. There were at least seven to ten teachers then handling Grades III to VI.
