SELG PRESIDENT OF MMES, ELECTED AS NEWLY REGIONAL FEDERATION SELG VICE PRESIDENT

The vibrant halls of Varela Hall at the Department of Education NCR, Regional Office were abuzz with excitement on December 12, 2024, as student leaders from across the National Capital Region gathered for the 2024 Regional Federation of Supreme Elementary and Secondary Learner Government (SELG and SSLG) Election and Oath Taking. Representing schools from all divisions, these young leaders carried with them the hopes and aspirations of their fellow students. Among the passionate participants was Renz Gabriel A. Prila, the dynamic SELG President of Marcela Marcelo Elementary School. Already recognized for his exemplary leadership as the Division Federation SELG President, Prila was elected as a Vice President of the Regional Federation Supreme Elementary Learner Government—a testament to his dedication and vision for student governance. Accompanying him was SELG and Division Federation SELG Adviser, Mr. Mark Henry Z. Tiongson whose guidance and support played a pivotal role in Prila’s journey. The event, brimming with youthful energy and inspiring speeches, marked a significant milestone in the lives of these student leaders, especially for Prila, whose new role promises to amplify his impact across the region.

SDO Pasay City Alternative Learning System Year End Review and Christmas Get Together

The SDO Pasay City Alternative Learning System (ALS) held its Year-End Review and Christmas Get-Together on December 14, 2024. The event was attended by ALS teachers and implementers from various schools, along with ALS Education Program Supervisors (EPS). The closing and awarding ceremonies of SDO Pasay’s Training of Trainers took place at Epifanio Delos Santos Elementary School, celebrating the achievements of participants. During the event, Ms. Buenasflores was acknowledged for her outstanding work, earning the distinction of 2nd Best Output in Column Writing. The ceremony highlighted the skills and dedication of the participants, underscoring their contributions to the training program’s success.

Day 2 of Advanced Training Course: Sharpening Leadership Skills of Troop Leaders

The second day of the Advanced Training Course for troop leaders featured strong participation from school heads, master teachers, and educators. The course aims to equip leaders with key skills necessary for effective leadership and team management.  Attendees commended the hands-on approach of the training, highlighting its practical relevance to their roles. As the course continues, it is empowering leaders to better guide and inspire their teams with confidence and competence.

MMES Drum and Lyre Marching Band Wins Back-to-Back Championship Titles

The Marcela Marcelo Elementary School Drum and Lyre Marching Band has claimed the championship title for the second consecutive year at the 161st Anniversary Celebration of Pasay City’s Drum and Lyre Competition, held on December 14, 2024. This marks their second straight win, having also been crowned champions in last year’s competition. The band’s outstanding performance earned them top honors once again, showcasing their musical talent and precision. This year’s competition, which featured various schools and community bands, highlighted Pasay City’s rich cultural heritage and the skillful artistry of local performers. The MMES Marching Band’s back-to-back victories have solidified the school’s growing legacy in the city’s annual celebration, drawing praise for their discipline and creativity. Special recognition goes to trainers John Aron Suerte, Abenzo Dalaniel, Mark Navata, and John Lee I. Baluyot for their dedication and guidance. The band’s success is also attributed to the leadership of Mrs. Irene Parba, the band’s adviser, and the unwavering support of the MMES academic and non-academic community, as well as the school head, for their encouragement and assistance throughout the competition.
