Plant in a Pot Project

Marcela Marcelo Elementary School enjoined to participate in a “PLANT IN A POT PROJECT” of Deped SDO-Pasay. This aims to help sustain and maintain the clean and green project of school and as well as in the community. This project will be part of learners’ output in all subject areas. Class advisers and EPP/TLE Teachers inform the learners to take pictures together with their plants and send it to the GCs. Likewise; it will be posted to the Facebook page of the school.  Through this “Plant in a Pot Project, a learner can experience joy in planting especially in this time of pandemic because gardening is a natural stress reliever. Being outside in the fresh air and sunshine can improve mood and feel rejuvenated and overall happy. Growing your own produce also gives a great sense of accomplishment. Another thing is we are teaching each learner to be responsible by keeping their plants healthy.

Marcela Marcelo Elementary School students started to plant in their own home to participate in a “PLANT IN A POT PROJECT” of Deped SDO-Pasay. This project was initiated by the school principal Ms. Norma B. Jamon with the EPP-TLE Coordinator Mrs. Gelyn R. Lagman. Advisers from Kinder to Grade Six and EPP- TLE teachers from grade four-six informed the students to plant in a pot as part of their output in all subject areas. They were also asked to take photos of them together with their plants. To ensure that all the plants were healthily taken care of, students were also tasked to have a weekly update of their grown plants through their GCs.

Meanwhile, Manila Tytana Colleges supports the MMES Plant in a Pot Project through their Plant Your Tomorrow Project. This is a student-initiated donation activity of pencils with purpose for selected students of Marcela Marcelo Elementary School, Pasay City which will help understand better the importance and benefits of these types of pencils. The Plantable pencils kits include the following: a plantable pencil bearing a seed of different kinds, a mini plant pot, a packed garden soil and an instructional material how to plant the seed  The distribution of Plantable kit happened on December 10, 2020 at 1:00- 4:00 pm. It was participated by the selected students from the school and was attended by the whole group (Tytana Communication Students) and co administrators of both institutions

Indeed, Marcelanian showed their compliance and love for plants for they were able to actively perform “PLANT IN A POT PROJECT” at home. It turn out that 100% of Marcelanian submitted their output in their respective advisers. Pictures can be viewed in MMES official Facebook page through slide show presentation.
