MMES Holds First General Assembly by Merle R. Buenasflores Marcela Marcelo Elementary School (MMES) held its First General Assembly last June 1, 2019 at MMES Covered Court. It was attended by Homeroom PTA Officers ,parentsand guardians of the pupils, barangay officials and members of the faculty headed by Mr. Noel F. Junio, school principal. General Assembly is being conducted days before the start of the school year to orient the stakeholders on DepEd’s vision, mission, co-curricular programs and activities and other initiatives planned for the coming school year. Mr. Noel F. Junio, school principal presented the School Report Card (SRC) for the recently concluded school year. The SRC contains school accomplishments and status of on-going and accomplished programs and projects implemented in school. He highlighted the installation of air conditioning units in kindergarten, grades one and two classrooms. The said air conditioning units were provided by the local government to provide conducive learning environment to all public schools in the city. This is aside from the monthly cash allowance provided as well to all school children in the city. During the assembly, faculty and staff of MMES were introduced to give the parents the opportunity to be familiar with the teachers assigned in the different grade levels for the present school year. Mr. Junioasked the support of the parents in realizing the programs and activities set for upcoming school year. He emphasizedthe big role of the parents and other stakeholders in achieving the school’s objectives and goals.
Nutrition Month Opening Program
Nutrition Month Opening program Highlighting the First 1000 Days during Nutrition Month in July 2016 aims to create awareness on the importance of proper infant and young child feeding practices, particularly exclusive breastfeeding for the first 6 months and giving appropriate complementary food after six months while continuing breastfeeding. The celebration also aims to promote collaboration among various stakeholders both at the national and local levels for programs serving families with pregnant mothers and children less than 2 years old. The 2016 Nutrition Month celebration will also serve as a venue for the launching of the Early Childhood Care and Development Intervention Package (ECCD-IP) for the First 1000 Days. The Marcelans also showed their support to this advocacy in order to promote awareness not only to the students but also to the stakeholders and the community.It started with a parade around the community. IT was followed by an opening program , wherein the students showcased their talents.

MMES Wagi sa National Safekids Cheerdance Competition Muli na namang umarangkada ang pangkat ng MMES Safekids. Sa ikalawang pagkakataon ay muling nasungkit ang Kampeonato.Isa lamang itong patunay na ang walang humpay na suporta ng ating butihing punong -guro , Noel F. Junio at ang buong pagtitiyaga at pagpapagal ngmga guro ang siya ring dahilan ng matamis na tagumpay.
4th Summer Reading Camp
4th Summer Reading Camp Summer Reading Camp is a fifteen (15) weekday activity which follows the integrated approach to teaching and learning where all subject areas are involved focusing on reading comprehension skills.This would certainly address not only the existing problems on reading deficiencies of our learners further nurture and hone the individual’s love of reading thus exposing them to various learning opportunities where reading skills will be enhanced through play, fun games, oral interpretation, videos and other enjoyable activities. a) to help non-readers readb) to enable frustration readers comprehend what they readc) to develop instructional readers’ comprehension skills and improve oral interpretation skillsd) to enhance the reading abilities of individuals through various literary activitiese) to hone teacher-volunteers’ teaching capacities/competencies in teaching reading
MMES Brigada 2019
The Department of Education (DepEd) will conduct the 2019 Brigada Eskwela from May 20 to 25, 2019 with the theme “Matatag na Bayan para sa Maunlad na Paaralan.” The Brigada Eskwela is the National Schools Maintenance Week, that aims to bring together all education stakeholders to participate and contribute their time, effort, and resources to prepare public school facilities for the opening of the school year in June.
